PADRAIC 6: An International Expert consensus on the need for and design of a clinical trial for weight loss intervention to prevent cancer

International, multi-disciplinary researchers were invited to create an expert panel with the aim of achieving consensus on: the need for a clinical trial for weight loss intervention and cancer prevention, clinical trial design elements in this context and future research priorities.

In a 3-step process (Figure1 ), a nominal group meeting and parallel PPIE group informed the statements to be covered in a modified Delphi consensus. The Delphi consensus was held over 3 rounds. A final nominal group meeting was held following contextualisation of the Delphi consensus results with a PPIE group to discuss borderline statements and elements that did not reach consensus.
